CMC Recycling has provided metals recycling services for the greater Columbia metropolitan area since the early 1970s. As a customer-service focused organization, our facility and processes are designed with you in mind. Our recycling facility is largely concrete and is kept clean, ensuring that our customers’ vehicles are taken care of when traveling through our yard.

Our location features a drive-thru retail customer area, specifically for our individual customers with less material to sell. This area ensures quick and efficient processing for customers without being mixed in among trucks, trailers and larger customer vehicles.

We serve the greater downtown Columbia area to approximately a 20-mile radius, and are located near the Williams-Brice Stadium off Shop Road.

Payment Guidelines

A state-issued ID is required for all customers. Certain other regulations pertain to different types of metals. A customer needs a scrap permit to recycle non-ferrous metals, and all payments for copper must be made by check. For those paid by check, note that there is a two-hour waiting period for cashing checks at the local Bank of America. However, we do have an ATM with cash on-site.

Cylinders or other containers of compressed gas (including propane)
NiCad-Batteries
Radioactive materials
PCB containing materials such as capacitors or light ballasts
Sealed containers
Liquids of any type
Catalytic converters
Flammable materials
Trash, garbage, concrete and other non-recyclable items
Broken, cracked, or leaking batteries
Office machines and electronic equipment, such as fax machines, copiers, scanners, computers and monitors
Materials with strong or objectionable odors
Materials containing asbestos
Unidentifiable materials
